I don't know what to make of this, Ortiz is Ortiz I mean he has goods it's no doubt. I find myself maybe in the same trap others do and compare what PAC is doing compared to Floyd and there competition. I think Floyd is doing a better job than Manny for a few years now at that. I feel at THIS POINT Ortiz is a bigger risk to Floyd than JMM is to PAC. I also agree
with our bitter hatton fan that Floyd picked a young fast strong big south
    paw to measure himself against
PAC. But this is far from a pathetic
tuneup though. I feel Ortiz is pretty
good but Floyd is great. So what do
you do for an opponent?I see how Roach and Arum operate and really
find it hard to believe that they have
made no fuss at the contract table
    when it comes to PAC-
Mayweather.. Roach is one of the
biggest Kenivers in boxing and if you don't believe it listen to him scam and cumningly get through his arguments on Mannys choice of opponents the catch-weights and the whole business and how they fight for the money blah blah.. I stay away from here because I can't stand how people can't separate the facts in front of them on how team PAC operates

you can't seem to seperate that Team Mayweather does the same exact thing, he was all about fighting with Manny and that Pacquiao is next at the beginning of the press tour and now is saying he's never made such statements, both guys language of choice is bullshit, the fans want the fight so you know it will sell, seeing how it's the most talked about fight for the last 3 or so years you know both guys will make a shit load of money, all they have to do is suck it up and fight, BOTH stop being pussies and do what THEY GET PAID FOR and FIGHT, it's that fucking simple, fanboys from both sides complain about the same shit yet their fighter (be it Mayweather or Pacquiao) does the same exact thing that their complaining about

    Very well said.

Mayweather has been fighting sporadically and is avoiding Manny. Manny is busier and has the better recent resume, but has been largely fighting Mayweather's leftovers.

They both need to get a grip and just fight. If one loses then no big deal, the earth keeps on spinning. But Manny should take the tests and Floyd should push for the fight. None of this contradiction nonsense.

If Mayweather doesn't fight Manny after this then he should retire and I say the same for Manny too.

I just dont see why Manny cant take the same random tests that Floyd would take and the other Mayweather opponents are willing to do??

As far as being significant in the sport. Both fighters need each other because they are intertwined its that simple. If one or the the other didn't exist the other one would be for sure 1000000% unquestionably be the best fighter in the world but since it's not the case they are connected and the whispers and jeers from both camps and fans will be there

I totally agree, but you cannot deny that Mayweather has contradicted himself completely in recent weeks. If he suddenly vanishes after this then accept that Floyd is in it just to make his money once a year.

why doesn't Mayweather just take the 50/50 split and actually make weight?

BOTH guys are being juvenile and idiotic, neither guy is holding up the fight more than the other, they BOTH are to blame

Ortiz is just a pretty mellow fellow. Sounding tough and being confident are different things. I think skill wise his chances are Mr. & Mrs. Slimandnone but when a guy is branded with a scarlet letter ala quitter they can go in opposite direction to get it off. Phoney tough guys stay in the canvas and collect checks...or blame a stubbed toe. Ortiz reclaimed some of himself last out and I think he goes out on his shield Vs Mayweather.

Ortiz has been terrible all through selling this fight. Not his fault.

He's clearly starstruck and too naive/young for this type of event. After the fight he'll be getting Floyd too sign his shorts and shit.

I am going to 100% disagree with you on the bold. As I've said in other posts, I believe Ortiz is an easier opponent for Floyd than Marquez is for Pac. Much in fact. I'll sig bet you that Marquez does better against Pacquiao than Ortiz does against Mayweather. Were you the one that I had talked about with that before.

I think the point that Manny has been Floyd's leftovers is overblown. Hatton, ODLH, Mosley, but that's it, and he did a better job against them. Those are the marquee names around that weight. Other than that, he's fought Cotto, Maracheato, and Clottey. Two of whom Floyd openly decided not to fight.
