Arguably so was Hopkins. But he was a nobody back then.

Well, Benn was past his peak by 1996 when RJJ was reaching the top, and Benn wouldnt have qualified for fighting him then.

If you are referring to my post, I was talking about if JC and Benn had been born in the same generation.

prime RJJ would take prime Benn, mind you. Benn wouldnt be able to cope with Roy'sreflexes, which must have been inherited from aliens or cassius clay, his reflexes coudnt have been human.

Jones reached the top before 96.

A Benn-Jones fight was seriously discussed around 95/96. However, boxing politcs prevented it from happening.

Why do some people think Joe would just slap, did you see him put Eubank down ? all i can say what a SLAP. Come on Joe would out box Benn easy like he had done to all his opponenet's.

He fought some crap remember Tucker Podwell, Manfredi, Joe was quality but he almost fought no body or Ottke left overs for many years.

Yes he did but so did RRJ and B Hopp, so he is no diffrent to them you cant have hard fight's week in week out ? if you had hard fight's all the time you would soon be a shot fighter, did DURAN HAGLER HEARN'S to name a few all have good opponent's all time NO. What we whant is not allway's what we get it's the fight game.?
