Exactly, Calzaghe is a great fighter, but all these 'purists' want to knock him and say that he couldn't punch properly or that he didn't prance about throwing 20 punches a round like Mayweather. To hell with all that, the man came out and overwhelmed you with his sheer brilliance. And not only was he a great fighter, but he had the audacity to look good too. Lot's of jealous and ugly keyboard warriors out there IMO and all in love with their ugly fighters that make them feel better about themselves.

P4P the greatest fighter ever IMO. Nobody could ever outwork Joe Calzaghe. Not even Sven Ottke.

By the way, Calzaghe only punched like he did later in his career when his hands went. Earlier in his career he punched tough.

It's the America disease really. He beat Jones with his hands by his waist and made Hopkins look like a complete div after a slow start.

American's hate it because he was a class above any of these so called athletes that they can produce. They can move about throw a few punches, but none of them have the kind of technique and skill that Calzaghe had. No big name trainer, no Philly shell, nothing. Just completely unique and they can't make head nor tail of it.

You can't understand it, so just pick holes and hate it. Calzaghe was great, never lost and really had no serious flaws. He could adapt and do what he wanted.

Jones is held up as this superior athlete, but not really. Stick him in there with a man that throws like Calzaghe, Jones could never have kept up or properly evaded him over 12. I give Jones a punchers chance as he isn't outworking Calzaghe.

Joe Calzaghe retired as P4P #1 ? ROFL.
Calzaghe is merely a wannabe. Sure he had talent & if he'd been blessed with a set of champions cojones maybe he would have made the lower regions of P4P.
Only the most rabid Calzaghe disciple would claim Calzaghe LEGITIMATELY beat Bernard Hopkins. Calzaghe hadly threw 30 LEGAL punches ROFL plus he was put on his ass.
If Calzaghe REALLY thought he beat Hopkins he would have done what a real fighter would do FIGHT a REMATCH!!! at home in wales to erase all doubt who won. Instead Joe slunk off and retired to sniff the white stuff, get drunk, chase ho's & kill innocent little rabbits. If only he'd been a man instead of a mouse.
Forget Mayweather too for the same reason as Calzaghe. All mouth no balls

This is just a hater's post, 2 of the 3 judges had Calzaghe winning and it was hardly a robbery, a legit enough win in the States. Calzaghe made his point, why would he want to fight a racist asshole like Hopkins again?

Like him or not, Calzaghe was good at what he did, beat everyone they put in front of him, finished his career 46-0, and is headed for the BHOF. You can hate on him all you want, but the facts speak for themselves, so who fucking cares what you think.

Since when did Calzaghe start throwing legal punches and not slaps Sure he was unbeaten because he ducked all dangerous opposition till forced to meet Bernard Hopkins. He received a split dec win he in NO WAY IN HELL deserved. Thats why he ducked a rematch & retired ROFL

He threw legal punches. Sure, they weren't thrown in the way that 'brother Naz' would instruct but they were thrown and he was never warned about it. They were legal, otherwise show me the rule to show his punches weren't. You can't. The man threw punches and lots of them. So despite your prejudice, you should get the fuck over it.

Now he ducked all dangerous opponents until Hopkins? You really are stupid. His record is no worse than that of Hopkins nor Jones, but I'm sure you preferred how they threw a punch. Jones fought a serious lot of crap and Hopkins liked to parade over former WW's.

And hahaha, he beat Hopkins over the last 8 rounds, it wasn't even close.
