Default Devon Alexander versus Marcos Maidana

    Who wins?

Other than Soto-Matthysse, Khan-Peterson II, Lopez-Salido II, and a few other fights I'm sure I'm missing (alright, I'll be honest, all I do is look forward to fights) this fight is one of the more competitive top-level bouts coming up. It's a styles clash of boxer versus brawler, which also makes it exciting.

I may be in the minority, but I'm leaning toward Devon Alexander here, although I can 100% see the argument that Marcos Maidana wins. It seems like a risky fight for Devon Alexander to take given his recent close decisions over Matthysse and Kotelnik, and I have a feeling he'll be prepared well for it. It's hard not to look to the Urango fight as a blueprint for the Maidana fight, but that would be too simplistic because, most importantly, Maidana is better than Urango. A deciding factor could be that this fight is in St. Louis ("The Lou") where Devon is from and we've seen two close decisions go his way. How will the weight, the fight is at 147, factor into it?

I pick Maidana to stop Alexander late. I just think Alexander doesn't have the heart and Maindana's pressure will get to him and he will fold.

It's in St. Louis? That's bull. I see Maidana winning it in the eyes of everyone but the judges will probably give it to Alexander. Maidana must push for the ko- and I hope he gets it.

Alexanders team couldn't have picked a better opponet. Devon will outbox and ko maidana, and once again get too much credit for it.

Maidana probably is regarded as Khan's best win...

Definitely. Khan had to be very careful in that fight.

To think that Alexander is going to have an easy fight against Maidana is absolutely stupid.

I'm really tempted to say that Maidana will break Alexander late. He just lacks the heart for me Alexander. If Maidana can bring the shit, when it hits the fan, Alexander won't like it. Just like he didn't against Matthyse and also against Bradley..... I actually have Alexander losing his last three. Plus, his knockout of Urango was tainted for me due to a sledgehammer of a right hand from Randall Bailey in Urango's previous fight that softened him up. Still dont know how he got up from that.....

    Big love to Randall Bailey..........

I like this fight a lot actually. Alexander has nearly every physical advantage over Maidana but this was true against Matthyse and Kotelnik as well, and Maidana probably has more grit than either of those guys. Guys like Alexander, Andre Direll etc kind of grate me. Fighters with those kind of tools shouldn't be in tough just because their opponent is durable and there to win, yet it is the case every time they fight.

I love this fight. In my mind its Devon trying to win on points while Maidana just keeps bringing it trying to get the KO. For my prediction I will say Devon split decision.
But with Devons ko against Urango he could get a KO. Maidana could pile the pressure on throughout the fight and outwork him the second half winning a decision. Either guy could get knocked out and they both have the fitness to make this a fight all the way through to the last round.
I made my decision at the top but im not going to say im sure whats going to happen.
    Very good fight.

I can agree with this, Alexander pretty much quit against Bradley, I think he does the same thing once the going gets tough against Maidana.

Devon hvae to know this is his last chance. Even is the going gets tough, Devon SHOULD outbox the slow Maidana. I'm picking Devon by decision but I can see a ko. M&M went down a few times in his career. Against Ortiz and Khan. Don't be surprise if we see a KO/TKO.
