When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
You are being a bit off with your generalisations about the Brits, Lyle. Bruno was a solid pro and people got behind him. Sure he wasn't the best in the world, but so what? Hatton was world class, Calzaghe was world class, Lewis was world class. Brits are not perennial underachievers at all. We do very well for a small nation with only a quarter of the population that you have. You have to factor that in. Britain is a small country that has historically risen above its station and you can apply that to many areas including sports.
No, it's just that not EVRYTHING I enjoy HAS to be American. I give credit where credit is due. I don't just glom on to a fighter from my country simply because he's from my country....Floyd Mayweather Jr. P4P the best fighter in the world right now, American, and I dislike him...If Floyd was British we'd never hear the end of it.
I'm not being mean to you guys or anything...just proving a point. You are total fans, you stick with your sides no matter what, and that's great...I do the very same thing. But you CONSTANTLY overrate your talent....GOLD MEDALIST Audley Harrison (no one mention he was 28 and fighting teenagers), firing Fabio Capello because obviously he knows nothing of football, .....I don't know, sometimes you guys just set yourself up for failure...we've done it before too see Jeff Lacy or Michael Grant or Andy Roddick...it just seems we don't do it as often....great that your nation can be galvinized by sports so simply though...it's just oh I don't know a little annoying especially after the whole David Haye ordeal, lord Jesus, I hope the next best boxer chooses not to act like that. Audley Harrison was God awful too.
Again, I'm not picking on you...we've done the same thing as well........just not nearly as often or to the extent that you've done it![]()
