Slipping? And he's still knocking these guys out!
His last 7 opponents have a combined record of 230-8
Macklin arguably defeated Sturm! Dzinziruk & Barker were both undefeated.
Its not like he's fighting guys Mayorga & Margarito![]()

The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
i'm gonna wait and see how he fares in the future... if and when he faces top level opposition again.
as i previously stated, he performed what i feel to be poorly against some basic B level fighters in his last two fights. which i feel lessens his credibility in the P4P rankings.

i want to wait and see what happens when he fights next.
everything else is speculation... and i'm predicting his continued decline in focus and speed and power and therefore effectiveness. if this happens against a fighter with some wrinkles in his game, someone with some depth. i predict a loss for sergio.
you are perfectly welcome to think he's P4P whatever number you want.
Ok so who do you suggest he fights that will give him these wrinkles?
Remember the majority of his career was fought at 147 & 154, he only moved up because the Pavlik fight presented itself. I think Ward at 168 would give him problems but it's not really fair cause it's not Martinez' weight class.
I think Geale would be a good fight, but I see Martinez winning that one.

Shhhh.... you're ruining the sarcasm here. The comment was tongue-in-cheek and directed at your "buddy", who thinks Sergio is slipping and who worships the ground Chavez Jr. walks on.
Matter of fact, I'm kinda hoping the Chavez camp feels the same way as your "buddy", and makes the match we're all waiting to see, before Sergio REALLY gets old and it becomes a moot point. I'd personally travel to wherever the fight was held just to see Chavez Jr. dumped on his ass by the "slipping" Martinez.
Oh hell, it's YOU again. You just won't go away.
But that's what I'm saying, kid. Martinez IS getting old and IS slipping. And according to you, he's also overrated. So NOW'S the time to throw him in against Baby Chavez..... to fatten that false....er... I mean, wonderful record of his.
You give the baby regular BJ's. So when you come up for air, you may want to suggest the slipping Sergio as his next opponent.
Glad to be of help.
