I should imagine someone has already pointed this out (havent read all the posts) but its so ridiculous I feel the need to comment now!

Oscar was far from a legit 147lb fighter

He hadnt foight at that weight for 7 years and had fought up at middle and even then Manny needed him to come in well below the limit, at 145lb! He was a totally weight drained fighter!

I have no doubt that the fighter who fought Trinidad, Quartey and Mosely would be far too much for Pacquiao.

I think Floyd always beats him. Dont forget, Floyd fought De La Hoya where he was comfortable, big and strong, up at light middle!
OK now your sound more like a hater. Pacquiao fought many legit 147lb fighters and proved he could handle the punch of bigger weight class. The question is hypothetical, not actual, so when attempting to make a point put some thought into it rather than a knee jerk reaction about your feelings.

No doubt a prime Oscar could have put some hurt on Pacquiao. I think it comes down to, could a prime Oscar have caught Pacquiao? I don't know, but after seeing Pacquiao's subsequent fights, I doubt Oscar would have enough solid connects to take out Pacquiao or win on points. thus a prime Oscar beating Pacquiao is doubtful.
The point that you are missing about Oscar is that he was versatile. He was happy to go hell for leather in his first fight against Mosley and against Quartey, and then box behind his jab against Tito and the return against Mosley.

Subsequest connects against Pacquiao? Against whom? Please don't hold Hatton, Bradley, Clottey and Margarito up as poster boys for pinpoint speed, accuracy and power.

Truth is the closest to Oscar in quality Manny has faced post Oscar is Marquez and Cotto. Marquez had no trouble snapping Manny's head back, and Cotto had success when he boxed (and he is slower, smaller, lighter punching, and technically poorer than Oscar with a lesser chin.)

If Oscar elected to box Manny he would win easily.
