but Ian Thorpe is lovely. He's my new husband. It was Lyle but I dropped him.

I guess it is the size of the fickle that matters.

So the track and field gets cracking today. Great start from Jess, British record I think they said?

Some of the 100m preliminaries are hilarious. I'm sure the Qatar athlete came out in a cardigan.

My favorite 'athlete' of the games so far. Ricardo Blas Jnr, 34st Judoka from Guam.

The crowd support for Jess Ennis, and the other Brit girl, was beyond awesome. 80,000 bods to watch a morning qualifying session. Unreal.

Cram give it the big bulid up "she's making history" - goes 5 yards and pulls up lame. Straight out of a comedy sketch show.

Working on the assumption that Murray is going to get battered by Djokovic I really hope the wheels come off for Del Potro.

Beat Federer for a bronze medal? Cant see it.

Yeah the crowd was mental. The young un was loving every minute of it. Our heptathletes are by far the best looking and there ought to be a medal for that.

Another good day for the Brits, particularly for the cyclists, but does anyone else think that if it was China dominating a sport as GB are doing in the velodrome then the whole world would be asking questions about drugs. Especially when they have broken six world records in two days.

Murray took the first set too!

Okay, I'm dubbing the women's heptathlon the fitties competition.

We all know Jess Ennis is lovely, but Dobrynska of the Ukraine is certainly well worth a look.

Ennis been knocked back to second after the shot put...one hell of a throw from some Lithuanian girl.
