I disagree Inuit, any fight SOG is part of is going to be a stinker, and Dawson's fights aren't much better.

I seriously doubt that i'll even bother trying to watch it, this is on Showtime Sept 8th, the same night:

At Las Vegas (Showtime): Randall Bailey vs. Devon Alexander, 12 rounds, for Bailey's IBF welterweight title; Ajose Olusegun vs. Lucas Matthysse, 12 rounds, for vacant WBC interim junior welterweight title.
Hopefully they stagger these a bit or I'll be bouncing back from stream to stream.

I hear you Mars and there is a real possibility that it could be a little sleepy at times but I think its going to be the surprise of the year. I just think the two styles bode well for a boxing match given Dawsons range and being a southpaw. The only thing I see as a possible spoiler here is a bad clash of heads.

Ward is extremely good at what he does and wins. He is more B Hop than Roy Jones. Andre will always beat Froch and the rest because he is that good. It would be in Froch interest for him to move up in weight or avenge Kessler because he will always remain number 2. Dawson fought B Hop to prepare himself for Ward, but I think Wards take a tight decision.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

There are two factors and they are Dawson's albatross, the catch weight meaning he has to lose weight and box in a lower division which would reek havoc on his concentration as the bell rings for every round. As far as the excitement is concerned, You may have to get lucky and Dawson will be full of piss and vinegar or put a lump of hot coal under his shorts. Dawson has been coming in at 175lbs. for along time and he could over train or under eat causing him to react slower.

I'm sure i'll end up watching it Inuit, just because it's boxing and on HBO, what i'd like to see is Chad stomping a mudhole in Ward's ass, what will likely happen is a boring, hard to score decision, with Ward getting the nod.
All in all Sept 8th figures to be a full evening of boxing, Vitali Klitschko vs. Manuel Charr comes on Saturday afternoon here in the States, then later that night the HBO & Showtime fights come on. A smorgasbord of boxing for us fans.

This far North I live under a bandwidth cap as only one supplier exists. Consequently my bills are off the charts. Lucky for me that I have no dependents other then my 2 pups.

I'm taking Chad. I just dont like Ward but its not just that because I'm no Dawson fan either. I just think the styles match up. And who takes the Nic SOG?

Dude was catered to for the entire tourney and now including this fight. It was scheduled for Vegas and now its the Oracle. Lets see this man fight in hostile territory or no mans land just once.

Not sure of the time dif. As I reply its 20 past 7 my time and I'm losing about 12 minutes a day now light wise. Soon it will be dark always.

That's another problem I have with most of Ward's fights, they're always in Oakland in front of his homies, who wants to see that shit.

As for the time dif, i'm in CDT here in Texas, so it's 2 hours earlier where you are, Klit vs. Charr is suppose to be shown on HBO, likely around 2:00 PM your time, but i'm not sure about the exact time.

    Speaking of boredom

Jab, jab, grab. Rinse and repeat.

To be hones I'd take a solid crisp snapping jab over 10 wild sloppy hooks any day of the week. I always appreciated a technical fight over a brawl because anyone can brawl but it takes a certain someone with a very specific set of skills that is honed over the years to truly box.

Gotta agree. As long as a guy doesn't constantly settle in the backseat and refuse to press an advantage I love a solid chess match. I think Dawson is finally shaking that tendency to coast and both these guys are sharp enough to keep it fluid, let's hope! Brawling has it's own technique, different strokes for different folks and you have to know your limitations before you go ass end up like a Khan.

Agree completely. I've been wanting this fight ever since Ward became the favorite to win the Super 6. When Dawson is actually focused and at the top of his game, he is a pleasure to watch.
