Frank Bruno, Donovan Ruddock, James Smith...those guys could bang. All we know of Tua is that he took everything Ibeabuchi (a vastly overrated fighter) threw at him and everything Lennox Lewis threw at him...but would he handle Tyson's power? It's not so much about how much power there is behind the punches, but how they land and where they land. Mike Tyson's power is different than Ike's or Lennox's as his punches were shorter, quicker, and in bunches.
The deal with Tyson is he had better fundamentals than Tua. Tyson moved his head, Tyson went to the body, he cut the ring down, he tied up well on the inside, he doubled up on the jab effectively. David Tua would once in a blue moon throw a ton of punches and look like a damn machine, but he was so inconsistent with that.
There's a way to beat Tyson and I don't see Tua having it. Ray Mercer perhaps, but not David Tua.
