Miles in most of these situations including priests fucking little boys which is the same thing, the victims are made to feel it is partially their doing and feel guilt about it so they hide it for years and suffer in silence. Sometimes its only when others come out and talk in a similar situation and get treated fairly, they feel they can get it off their chest as well.
