I've said I have doubts about many of the accusations. You seem to believe them point blank. You don't just take somebodies word on something, humans are exceptionally fallible and manipulative. Thus you investigate with diligence and weed out the rot.

And yes, I believe plenty of women are willing to cry wolf. You liked it at 15, continued for years and now you are hitting the menopause are guilty that your first time was grim. Oh, boo hoo. I find this thread interesting because I see it conflicting with my freedom of speech ethos. One thing I don't believe should be allowed is for people to say things which cannot be supported in any meaningful way. It is slander. Take this following story for instance...

What you have here is a man who has chosen to sell his story to the nastiest tabloid rather than keep it quiet and go to the authorities in a mature manner. The tabloids do this all of the time and all too frequently end up having to pay out in damages, but clearly in this case Jimmy Savile is fair game for all of them.

It is for these kinds of reasons that I have a hard time trusting the one sided stories that are becoming all too common. What next, eh? I am all for opinions, but what I am not for is unsubstantiated and blatant slander.

I think he did wrong, Memphis. Perhaps a lot of wrong, but it all needs to be properly investigated. Trial by tabloid is nonsense though and you know it.

You also don't go to the media above going to the law, that clouds the issue big time.

The English are awful and that's what gets me about all this. They really will hang a man before any conclusive proof is produced.

So basically you believe any woman willing to speak in front of a camera, you also accept circumstantial evidence told on a boxing site as evidence. Most of the allegations have come out in the wake of the documentary and are getting weirder and weirder.

I am not saying they are all lies, but unlike you I am going to remain skeptical until officially investigated. You cannot just make accusations without having something to back it up.

I have repeated numerous times that I think Savile broke the law, but I really have a hard time believing each and every one of these cases. Evidence first and weed out the rot. If you are going to arrest every man who has sex with a 15 year old then you will be locking up millions.
