Honestly Lyle I agree with Kirk on this one. The GOP was shortsighted to ever go in another direction. They can provide alternative methods to amnesty but anything else is a loser for them.

Well I think as usual this is a poorly messaged policy for the GOP. Immigrant labor is an important part of our work force. We have a large demand for unskilled cheap labor and they have a supply. Compound that with very little employment opportunities in Mexico and the effects aren't hard to predict. Deporting 15 million people is just a loser of a policy. There are multiple ways to handle it but they need to develop and message one that isn't antagonistic to Hispanics. Secondly they need to develop policy that overhauls the guest worker program. We need these people to fill jobs and it is reasonable to want to know who is coming in, what are they doing and when are they leaving so make a streamlined system that lets them work here legally. No matter what happens if they let the President get out in front of them on this they will be reactive in messaging versus pro-active.

And I'm telling you Reagan gave amnesty and it lost George H. W. Bush hispanic votes & when tried again by McCain & Graham the phone lines melted...that's just what happened, it's not what will happen but let's learn from the past. Providing a pathway to citizenship is cool with me but I'm not the only voter in the US.

The world changes Lyle. We have legal pot (sort of) in two states and gay marriage in more. Not too long ago these were loser initiaves even in progressive California. The GOP can either be on the right side of history or they can suffer the consequences.

Exactly. The GOP is between a rock and a hard place. They know they have to appeal to Hispanics and other groups, and an amnesty will just be the start of that and won't really help the GOP's situation by itself, but in appealing to minorities they're going to infuriate their own base. Most of the base will stay with them but a significant minority will just say fuck all y'all and not vote anymore.

This is the result of decades of appealing to the vast majority by bashing minorities. Now that the majority isn't so vast their previous tactics are coming back to bite them.

Again, Reagan with a 37% portion of the hispanic vote, grants Amnesty. Next election George H.W. Bush garners 30% of the hispanic vote. Why was that the case?

Thjat's what I'm saying. Simply granting amnesty to Undocumented-Americans isn't going to be enough to persuade Hispanics to vote GOP. It's going to take a lot more than that.

In the end it doesn't matter anyway. You're never going to get the opportunity to vote for anything remotely resembling the current Republican party ever again. The whole party is about to move dramatically to the left on every single issue, not just amnesty for Undocumanteds.

Yes, of course "free stuff" why would they vote for any other reason?

If the Republicans move to the left then I'll vote Libertarian simple as that and it's "Undocumenteds" you simp

You won't be given the opportunity to vote for any party that isn't left wing anymore. Remember this?

The US military investigated building a "gay bomb", which would make enemy soldiers "sexually irresistible" to each other, government papers say......

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/4174519.stm

Well, we've been working on it for the laast few years. It's been perfected at a secret ACORN laboratory in Canada and we'll be able to use it soon. The bomb has been fine-tuned so it only works on conservatives. We're rushing it into production because word is starting to leak out in Georgia about some of the other stuff we've got planned. You know what I'm talking about. Agenda 21. Delphi.

So pretty soon we're going to start carpet bombing the southern states and turn you all gay. I'll know more soon when I fly over to America for the Obama election steal victory party. Everybody's going to be there, the ACORN boys who stuffed all the ballot boxes in Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania and the New Black Panthers who stopped all those Republican voters from voting. George is going to be chairing the event and we're going to be decising who we pick for 2016. It doesn't matter who because they're going to win anyway. I'm think I'm going to go for Hillary Clinton and Al Sharpton.
