Donaire is the money pit for the division and probably in the top five draws in boxing. Mares on the other hand could not draw earthworms to a shit party. When and if serious talks begin say by the middle of next year Arum will probably give him a low ball offer.
The attendance to their last two fights:

    Donaire VS Nishioka - 6,203
    Mares VS Moreno - 6,341

Neither of them are huge draws but if this event was promoted on a big scale Mares would draw more Latino fans than Donaire could draw out Phillipino fans.
I'm not talking about the live gate.
What attendance figures are you talking about? I 'm not too proud to ask.
ppv or the draw to the broadcast. Donaire has it. Mares does not. Btw ftr I think Arum is a scum bag but he holds the cards on this one. Oscar can promote the Rios/Mathysse fight.

Bob Arum is an extremely selfish and greedy old man.

Based on what? Neither fighter has yet to headline a big PPV. And TV ratings for Donaire don't back you up. His 2 HBO fights in 2011 were in the bottom 4 of least watched. And his fight this year agaist Jeffrey Mathebula is this years least watched.

Do your own homework as to why Donaire is a bigger sell then Mares.

I did. Ratings and live numbers don't lie. You need to do yours. Cuz Arum said so, isn't a good enough reason
