Yes, I've read that article. I wouldn't call 1,000 DOD service members or .001% of the military as a significant amount. Like I said before the window of low base pay combined with the appropriate amount of dependents in order to qualify for food stamps is very small. This is an over stated issue used to pander to the military.

Rabble rabble rabble charts & graphs!!!!!

Kirkland said either way Romney or Obama America is screwed which is why he liked Obama more because?? Oh that's right it would be more of a slow painful easing off the band aid fall from grace as opposed to a rapid drop. Can't argue with him....unless the posts you make agree with his opinion and then he's more likely to agree with you instead of argue so it's all very pointless

I'm making the point that not everybody getting food stamps is a freeloader. The fact that members of the military and tens of thousands of veterans are getting foodtamps helps me get my point across.

And my response to that is "Can't they find meaningful work or is Barak Obama an abject failure of a President who hasn't made good on any of his promises even when the Democrats controlled a Super Majority in the House & Senate?"

And your excuse for him is?

The fact so many working people/unemployed people are on food stamps and other forms of welfare is a direct consequence of three decades of deregulation and ending oversight of the large parts of the economy and its financial system. Obama took office in the middle of the greatest economic collapse since the Depression. He could have done more but almost everything he could have done would have been blocked by the GOP. Obama has never had a working majority in the Senate for anything that would have significantly improved economic conditions.

    Fair enough but this statement:

"A lot of the people using food stamps will be US army families because they're paid so little they qualify for food stamps"

is not an accurate or fair representation of how many DoD families use food stamps.

I completely understand your hostility to charts, graphs and other forms of presenting facts and evidence. Facts and evidence make you break out in hives, don't they?

I agree. I didn't word that well at all. Obviously the majority of food stamp recipients aren't military people.
