    Hatton could have taken on a Katasidis type fighter for his first comeback fight but eventually he would have got to the realisation that he was never going to reach the heights he made at light welter. Hatton would have retired even if he got the decision against Senchenko

    I love Ricky, probably my favourite fighter of all time, but I don't believe he would have retired had he got a decision over Senchenko. He'd have deluded himself into thinking he was just shaking off the rust and would've signed to fight Paulie. It's just something he is saying to convince himself that it doesn't matter and if that is what it takes to keep him from doing something stupid, then I'm glad he's saying it.

    You probably are right money and ego makes it difficult to turn down another fight. I hope this is closure and he can get on with his life.
