When was this? JC should just get in shape and man up and make one of the biggest Uk showdowns , Froch- JC would be a good fight.

Froch was offered the fight when he was an absolute nobody.
Remember, before Froch fought Robin Reid, he hadnt faced any world title challengers or former world title holders. His record was shitty weak! He was in his 30's at the time and was a pro for over 5 years, so not a novice even. He had absolutely no credible excuse not to jump clapping and screaming at that offer!
It was just before he fought Reid and he turned it down. Whatever the money was it was a fast track to the top

I never used to like Froch because he came out with so much shit when he had done nothing and looked to be going nowhere slowly. I do like him as a fighter now but he has his obvious limitations. Kessler will beat him again. Kessler can match Froch for his toughness but has better skills and faster hands.
Heres what Warren has to say about aftoch and offering him the Calzaghe fight. You're Not a Great, Carl | Frank Warren Promotions
So either Froch wanted to mix it at a bit of a better level before fighting Calzaghe or there was another issue? Contracts, dates etc? So what.
It's not like Calzaghe ever turned an offer down and the fact that Calzaghe were even calling out a 'nobody' who hadn't even fought a Robin Reid yet says a lot and would fit his M.O.
He would have been in his twenties and have had fights still numbering in the teens...
So yeah Joe wanting to fight him then and Froch turning it down don't surprise me.
Different story now, judged as a Champion - who hasn't Froch fought? Who has he turned down? Nobody. The same cannot be said of Calzaghe.
The biggest win I can give him is Kes.

Is Joe saying... "don't look now but the guy in the rainbow tie only has 3 fingers on each hand"![]()

Hahahaha!
Froch was 30 and had 21 fights!reid was his 22nd! By contrast, when Calzaghe was scheduled to challenge Collins he hadnt been a pro 4 years yet and had 22 fights. Froch was so slow about moving his career but when offered the chance of a boost he went quiet.
This was in 2007 before Calzaghe fought Kessler.
Dont forget it it was Froch who was calling Calzaghe out everywhere but when offered the fight he shit his pants and sat back down.
If We are judging Calzaghe purely on the Kessler fight then he is better than Froch...
