For sure Wlad should have rematched Corey Sanders. Vitali said Corey gave him his hardest fight, it wasn't like it was a complete washout. Who's to say Corey wouldn't have gave Wlad hell again?
So the name of the thread is "When Tyson fought Spinks...." .....yet here we are, all hating on Wladimir.....again. Of course with a tricky thread title like this you're bound to have some reading comprehension issues.
I know what we SHOULD do....we should give no credit to the current heavyweight champion who's current reign is going on 7 years. Yeah, let's do THAT! It'll be awesome and then what we'll do is bemoan the fact that boxing is no longer respected the way it once was but we'll see no link between boxing "fans" being ungrateful assholes and how boxing is viewed by the average person.....that will be AWESOME!
It's difficult to give credit to somebody who got flattened by a pro-celebrity golfer.
I have read an article from Rooney where he says Tyson went missing for training for Spinks fight and only got in condition at late notice. Tyson also threatened to retire after that fight.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Haha...and it doesn't take much for you to be a cunt.
MY BOY Wladimir Klitschko (oooh dear is that racist Kirkland or have you made your mind up about where you stand on that issue yet?) it still the Heavyweight Champion of the World....going on 7 years now Kirkland.....7
Ooooh here's a list of people who have been THE Heavyweight Champion the past 7 years: Wladimir Klitschko, that is all![]()
Wlad is "champion" by default because he can't fight his most dangerous "challenger."
The closest you get to claiming Wlad as champion is since he beat Chagaev in 2009. The Ring and most independent rankings had Wlad ranked no.1, Vitali no.2 and Chagaev no.3. Considering Chagaev was rated his closest rival (ignoring Vitali) this was a legitimate title contest.
So Wlad has been champ for 3 years (although again by default because Vitali has been no.2 all through this time).
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Wlad comes up alot in these conversations because if we ignore the mythical p4p list the best heavyweight fighter is truly the king of boxing.
With vitalis retirement imminent Wlad will be in his own at the top of the hill.
I suppose some people feel the biggest and strongest athlete of boxing should set some sort of example? Why does the heavyweight best boxers not sell like a mayweather or pac?
The heavyweight scene should be bubbling but you cant make great fighters appear.
Not sure what Wlad has to do with this but anyway carry on.
I remember the fight as it was at a time when streams did not exist and a few buds and I kicked in a few bucks and got it over the television. I remember my friend Graham shouting at the stare-down, somebody haNd Spinks a box of Depends.
