It's all about money. Chinese TV could be a goldmine. They don't have PPVs yet but if boxing gets popular on TV they will. Right now domestic Chinese TV is probably paying a pittance for this card to see how it goes. The current money angle for Arum is the casino in Macau that's staging the fight.

Gambling is enormous in China. By February 20th this year the casinos in Macau had made more money than the casinos in Vegas made in 2012. A guy who owns a Vegas casino also owns new ones in Macau and Singapore and is using boxing to build his brand with the really big gamblers, guys who drop millions in a single night of gambling. There are a few hundred guys like this worldwide and most of them are Chinese, quite a few Japanese/other Asian. Currently Vegas will send a private plane to pick these guys up, give them a free suite, butler service and free everything else Vegas has to offer just to get them to come. Big fights have traditionally brought these guys through the doors which is why most big fights are in Vegas. Now they've got competition from Macau.

Only 2 belts are on the line not Donaires diamond thingy and imo Arum is actually cashing out on Rigo who just happens to be holding a belt. And Rigo could have been much busier then he has been and his career haas been stalled because of Arums stable and Hbo headline dates.

I feel strange defending Rigondeaux because I'm not a fan. I think Donaire is going to KO Rigo early, but he has performed much better than OK.
