    But it's becoming ridiculous now.
If you can't make the weight, don't fight at that division. Simple as.

Rather than doing this, would it not be easier to make a weightclass for every pound between 100 & 350. We need 250 weight divisions and a diamond belt in each! Yeno...for clarity.

Haha... yeah. But somehow being crowned "The New 148-lb Champion of the World!!" doesn't have the same ring to it as being "The New Welterweight Champion of the World!!".... just 'cause some lazy ass decided his best weight is 148.

Besides, how long would it be before we started cutting those division in half, also?

"And the winner...... and NEW..... "133 and a half" Champion of the World......" (rest drowned out by roar of the crowd).

148lbs is light-mini-junior-middleweight. If you're willing to jump up to 149lbs, you can become super-light-mini-junior-middleweight champion of the world. That is the dream anyway.

The days of glorifying 4-weight-division champions will be over.
Now we won't bat an eye until "so-and-so" has won at least 15 weight division championships.

Catchweights are actually the fairest form of boxing you can get. BOTH fighters have to be in unison. One man says he's comfortable making the agreed weight, the other man says he's comfortable making the agreed weight. Harmony.

You can't have excuses after like - "he was weightdrained," "he's small at the weight," "he's big at the weight"

    The best man wins. Perfect.

Bullshit. Everyone bitched when Pac made Cotto drop 2 pounds. Sometimes fighters request a catchweight to gain an unfair advantage.

Only silly fans bitched AFTER Cotto had been duffed up. Cotto had NO PROBLEM agreeing to the weight.

Catchweights are requested to make an EVEN playing field. If a fighter AGREES to make the weight, he has ZERO excuses if he loses. Simple as.
