After the fog of war clears and the argument for argument sake takes a back seat to reality ahd physical fact it still comes down to a question asked to each fighter.

To Alvarez: Would you like a crack at the best fighter in the world and the biggest payday you will ever have by dropping down to welter?

    Answer: No.

To Mayweather: Would you like to fight the 154 champion who will most likely be a light heavyweight the night of the fight in a division you would have no interest in staying in?

    Answer: Huuuuuuuuh?

Questioner: Right then, thanks for the time.

    The end.

Id say Canelo v Martinez is a more realistic prospect.

I think Alvarez will lose the weight and fight him. Or maybe they fight at 148 for the 154 belt. It's the perfect excuse for Alvarez if/when he loses. He can go back to 154 and continue his career.

This would make sense for canelo but i still see it being 147.

Floyd sr has already confirmed that it would only be at welterweight and also mentioned floyd jr is natural light welter.

Floyd's dad wants him to box and bore us more. If he had his way he would fight another 5 Guerrero's and finish. Forget legacy and real challenges, it is all about being safe and making the money.

If floyd is known for ducking all these fighters and a chicken in the ring, how is he able to be the face of boxing, highest paid athlete ever and the best £4£ boxer on earth...he must be doing something right.

I didn't say ducked. I said missed. Big difference. There is an argument why the fights didn't happen. There is no argument that they didn't happen. Missing fights affects legacy.

Canelo won't go to 147. Floyd won't fight at 154. The fight won't happen. It'll be another fight we miss out on involving Floyd. How many does that make in recent years? 5?

Name the 5 that have all been mayweathers fault.

    Let me guess:-

    1. Manny (offered him 40m, he wouldnt do drug tests, bob arum will never let them fight)
    2. Cotto (bob never wanted floyd to fight him)
    3. Mosely (before or after toothache-shane wanted no part of prime floyd)
    4. Manny.
    5. Manny.

    Please add more..

floyd jr is natural light welter.
That's a statement that belongs in the noughties. Floyd couldn't make 140 with a stomach bug.

What happens if they sign a contract to fight at 147 and Alvarez weighs in at 155?
