alexander had already shown signs of tiring.
purdy would have known that he didn't have to worry about the left hand hurting him.
purdy would have felt an increase in confidence.
purdy could have targeted alexander's left hand which would have distracted alexander possibly changing his game plan and possibly eventually causing him to quit if purdy hurt his hand enough...

how could it NOT have helped purdy?

I didn't see any signs of Alexander tiring tonight, certainly not from a constant punch attack from Purdy..who had two hands...and didn't act like it. He was being dominated with one hand and showed no adjustments at all knowing he was losing already, I think its that simple. I dont doubt his confidence but he was clearly outclassed
