Julius make up your mind is a street fighter a fighter or not? You keep moving the goal posts worried that somebody scoring a goal is the same as winning a game.

It's his fanatics that irratate me.

Take the '1 inch punch' for example. He pushes an out of balance and out of stance guy over a chair, he can't correct his balance because the chair is in the way of were his back foot should go - so he falls to the chair.

If your centre of gravity is moved past your heels then you will either correct your footing, or LOOSE your balance.

It's a simple demonstration of how unbalancing an opponent can make him vulnerable.

But to bruce lee fanatics, it's just bruce lee generating the power to explosively send an opponent flying in one punch, as if it's dragon ball z or something... These people claim to have a respect and passion for martial arts, but are dumbing it down - instead of stance and unbalance, it's "wow bruce lee punched like a cyborg"

Being in stance and quickly rotating your hips to extrnd your arm is enough to move somebody's torso an inch or two awat from their heels. The inability to correct this quickly due to the chair being in the way means they will stubble and trip over the chair.

it's a demonstration of economy of motion and not telegraphing your movements.

JKD kicks for example are (should) all be delivered from the same stance.

as for dan inosanto etc. then you should know the JKD world is very much split in terms of what JKD is/should be. If it's JKD as taught by Inosanto then it's 'concepts' and much less the techniques that Lee taught. I really like Silat as a system - again there are different styles, good and bad teachers etc

Thank you ! Finally. I'm sure you've heard the same nonsense I've heard from many of these nerds. one of the things I hate the most hearing from his fanatics are, Kung Fu is too dangerous. I"ve never heard of a murder or homicide cause by Kung fu, has anybody? I know boxers have died in the ring though (thats why I have a lot more respect for boxers). Any cases a guy died due to tiger claw, mantis grip or dragon punch?

what are you on about Beanz!? Bruce Lee is an actor. He is not a fighter. He had street fights just like a lot of other people had street fights. Does it make em all street fighters? Does it make them professional fighters? NO!

I'll give Bruce credit for being a practitioner, film performer, stuntman, athlete, fitness guru, student of arts but I'll never label him as a fighter, let alone the greatest fighter ever.
