Huh Even in an MMA match, about the only advantages Anderson WOULDN'T have over Jones are raw speed and strength. In a boxing match, he would have sweet fuck all to offer anyone remotely decent and even the corpse of Roy Jones would knock him flat out.
Clueless. Of course the younger, best fighter on the planet, has speed and strength advantage. Joneses nothing going for him anymore. Have u even ever watched Silva. So comfortable in everything he does

Hardly pal. Silva is what, 39 himself? He does not have faster hands than Roy Jones by any stretch of the imagination even today. I'm actually a fan of Silvas, he's my favourite MMA fighter by far and I think he has incredible skills. Of course he's comfortable with everything he does IN AN MMA FIGHT, but that's not what is being discussed here is it. To actually think because he can outbox the guys he fights he'd have a chance in a serious boxing match, is being clueless.

Jones would win in the ring. Probably not in the cage.

Do you think he could beat Michael Phelps in the pool, if he was allowed to throw punches?

What if it was a race except no lanes and you could still win by KO from a punch. If Jones just stayed in the shallow end he'd have a chance right

Jones' chin is so cracked at this point that he would probably get knocked out by Phelps splashing him.

Silva's reflexes are unbelievable, he would have no problem countering Jones and would hit him at will. Fights never going to happen anyway

Anderson Silva got knocked out in the first of his 2 pro boxing fights. I've seen him attempt an Ali shuffle in a boxing match and walk straight onto a punch because of it. He's not and never will be a boxer. To think he could even beat a washed up Jones is ridiculous.

He looks good standing up against MMA level boxers but it'd be a whole different matter against a professional boxer who's operated at such a high level, even one as shot as Jones. They're completely different sports. It would be the boxing version of Couture v Toney.

Oh good lord man. Lots of people have unbelievable reflexes, what on earth does that have to do with being able to counter punch a trained boxer. Silva does not box, he doesn't fight boxers, he has learned to operate under an entirely different skillset. A lot of his stand up is based on looking for and defending takedowns, the balance, stance etc is completely different and would put you in deep shit in a boxing match. Of course the fight won't happen, because it would be a complete sideshow which would look terrible for MMA.

Out of all the people Silva has ever fought he has never fought someone with boxing skills like Roy. Not even close.

Fighting with boxing rules would put Silva at a huge disadvantage. Roy wouldn't have to worry about the clinch, kicks, elbows or knees and Silva wouldn't be able to use his brad and butter tools.

In a boxing match Silva doesn't stand a chance. In a muay thai match Roy doesn't stand a chance.
