Cleverly is seen as a none puncher but he will beat Kovalev. It takes more than just power. Kovalev will be outworked and look very basic and over rated.

This will be a minor Calzaghe v Lacy where everyone got excited about the "new Tyson" facing the over rated, protected, none puncher Calzaghe.
Yeap, the people on this site hate none punchers.

I really think this fight will be a FOTY candidate. Has WAR written all over it for me. Can't wait....

I think hate and detest non punchers is a bit strong. Prefer bangers, yeah I'll go along with that.

Paulies popularity has increased as what punch power he ever had evaporated.

Kovalev looks like a hard cunt but I dont see anything too explosive about him. Campillo looked horrible in that fight and pretty much quit.

Im tipping Cleverly to control him.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Blimey, I'm surprised Cleverly opened as underdog too. Both camps didn't have to take this fight which shows how confident they both are.

It's pretty clear that Warren ain't convinced Kovalev is the killer he's being made out to be. Either that or he's completely lost it.

Its an absolutely stupid statement for a true boxing fan to make. I much prefer watching a non puncher fight 12 rounds of action then a puncher come in a blast a guy out within 30 seconds. Pure and simple

GGG is technically very good too. But you only like "American" fighters so it doesn't matter to you if he's good or not.

Guys, don't steal the thread to argue the merit of GGG's praise. He's got his own thread.

This is about Kovalev and Cleverly, which is a damn good match-up. Is it Cleverly's coming out party? Is Kovalev the beast that his last few fights have made him out to be? There are enough good story lines to keep boxing fans on this thread busy.

He sounds like way too much of the father and not the trainer talking there. Guarantee a KO...the pressure of Lateef f'n Kayode and guys like Chisora lead to that conclusion That's just goofy. I really think they might be focussing too much on what they think will be basic raw power and lose the fact Kovalev has boxing skill and killer set up.

Decent fight for the quiet summer months. If Nathan uses his speed and movement he can win clearly on points. "The Saddo Radio Show" that sounds like fun. Was it any good? Link?
