Lopez wan an artist and have to agree on Arguello being damn near right there. Frame, footwork and intent. Whitaker compared was a bit clunky, could be flat footed in spots and souly work upper body. More so the mentality was night and day. Lopez wanted to out dance you but for the purpose of picking you apart and busting you up.

Lopez- everything he did was textbook. Same was true of Arguello and Joe Louis, though Louis doesn't get credit for his footwork because it wasn't flashy. But he did it just like it is drawn up in the books. As did Arguello.

A fighter can have longevity if he's well-schooled. Text-book boxing and experience may allow an older fighter to remain competitive even when his physical attributes of reflexes, speed, and stamina have left him.

I loved watching Donald Curry he was efficient and effective boxer/puncher I have ever seen. Terry Norris was great technical fighter on his feet and quick powerful hand speed. Holyfield at cruiserweight was a joy to watch, and Tyson was exciting.

That being said Ricardo Lopez was perfect.

He was a wonderful fighter and isn't it a shame. I recall a time when Ricardo was on the same bill as christy Martin. He was paid $50,000 she was further up the bill an paid considerably more. Which tells us that the world is fucking mad

Maybe if Ricardo had publicly beat some women, made online homophobic racist rant videos, came from a family of crack-addict jailbirds, and occasionally went to jail himself too, maybe he could've made more money, because clearly conducting himself with style and class and having an undefeated record of 52 wins and engaging in 26 World Title fights wasn't enough...

*To b honest... I think it's Don Kings worst money making scheme... he had sooo many, he forgot this guy. What King would do with him now... Lopez walked around at 104 pounds, which was the reason he never fought at a higher weight, from what I remember. it was said he burned calories and just couldn't get heavier. King could've spent alittle more time hyping Lopez up... but why would he, he had Tyson...

Agree. Louis was a beautifully efficient puncher. Almost looked unassuming when he fought.
