I think a lot of it at the time was Straws were brand new, it took Carbajal and Gonzalez nearing tearing each others heads off...and two multiple promotion working together (imagine that) to see the first million dollar payday in the neighborhood. Also American heavyweights were pretty deep. The Foreign factor in a non Internet era with guys was big.
