Catch weights shouldn't even be on the radar of casual fans. Fighters can agree to face whoever they want at whatever weight can be agreed upon, the only alternative is that great fights wouldn't happen as often.
Loads of fighters routinely struggle to make the maximum weight allowed for their division anyways, it's not as if catch weights introduce anything new.

Mayweather forced the catchweight. This is a junior middleweight fight fought at a catchweight for Mayweather's benefit. He's doing the exact same thing he chastised Pacquiao for doing with Cotto. There is literally no difference. He is a hypocrite. If he can't fight Canelo at Canelo's own weight, that's his bad. The funny thing he is that he fought Cotto at 154 without a catchweight, but he wanted a catchweight for Canelo. What does that tell you?

Catchweights are the fairest thing in boxing, both fighters have to agree, there's no excuses. It would be better if we got rid of all titles and weightclasses so every fight was made at a catchweight.I agree and at the very least totally eliminated for title fights.
