Another positive I'm going to bring up is the fact that Broner chose Maidana personally to fight.

Mayweather recently revealed that Broner's management hand-picked Malignaggi because he had no punching power and wasn't seen as a threat. But because people were slamming Broner for fighting guys with no power, he went out and chose Maidana himself, against his management's wishes.

I think that deserves a thumbs up. The fans called him out and he answered the criticism by finding one of the biggest bangers in boxing.

Didn't work out for him obviously, but we should respect him for having the balls to go against his management and fight a real dangerous guy.

Broner definitely has the skill and ability to beat maidana. Does he have the mind to? During the whole fight all he did was shoulder roll and pot shot (like he was winning the fight). He didnt make any adjustments. All he had to do was use his athletic ability to stick and move, then open up when it presented himself. Instead he fought like a dumb ass. Does he need a new trainer? Is his corner too busy licking his balls and brushing his hair to make the changes he needs.

Maidana is a come forward fighter, the type that floyd, pac, ward would annihilate. But broner, with all his gifts decides to stay in one spot and do a shoulder roll. Fucking idiot. I think his boxing IQ is his biggest disability.

Yeah I noticed quite a few times Broner would shape up to shoulder roll before Madina had even thrown a punch! People forget that Floyd spent a long time in the lower weights honing his craft before slowly coming up, that coupled with his dedication are what makes him number one. Broner has skills but he needs to learn lessons from Floyd on how to move his career and living outside the ring.

I think you are giving a bit too much credit. Honestly...they took Maidana VERY lightly. He thought he could dominate him because Miadana wasn't fast and skilled enough. Broner wasn't physically prepared...and he clearly underestimated his opponent. It takes a lot of audacity and false confidence to go up against a dangerous puncher with heart and not respect him. But that is what he did. He wasn't in great shape...and he had barely a 2 month camp after a lengthy hip hop tour. Add all that to his technical and tactical flaws...he payed the price.

He was hoping to go undefeated... that won't happen... he wanted to be like Floyd... but he should have tried to be like Floyd when Floyd was younger, not the now Floyd who barely throws a punch a round.

Broner needs to be Broner. Fight.

That's a good point I think. He needs to realize Floyd is economical with his punches because he can afford to be, there are so many other things he does to take away his opponents best weapons and reduce their output. Broner wants to do the same things but can't at world level and basically just postures half the time as a result. He's not controlling distance or in position to counter, and he isn't actually going to roll with half the punches thrown at him. The guy needs to start using a jab and trying to slip punches coming forward I'd say, he does have the tools to be a better fighter if he wants to be.
