People enter with biases and conveniently mold facts around them. But for some, its as clear as day what's at the core. Cotto is a soldier and no doubt about it but the way Martinez is being dismissed as a half conscious corpse with no legs is mind blowing.
I spend so much time answering moronic posts, sometimes I miss some of the more objective, educated ones. Very good post, especially the bolded parts. BTW.... LOL at your description of how Martinez is being dismissed. Brought to mind sort of a boxing version of "Weekend at Bernie's".

Yea how Martinez is getting dismissed is ridiculous. No doubt hes not in his prime anymore but 2 fights ago he put on a boxing clinic v Chavez Jr and looked as good as ever in that fight.
Exactly! And the reason he looked like crap against Murray is that he didn't give himself enough time to recover from the leg injury he suffered in the last round of that Chavez Jr. fight. Knowledgeable fans know that, as well as the fact that obviously Martinez is past his prime also.
But IMO, there's two distinct reason to overly dismiss Martinez at this point.
One: truly a lack of boxing knowledge, where one mediocre showing is enough to write a fighter off. And
two: it fits a certain, biased agenda. So if Cotto somehow wins.... he really beat a "crippled"..... how did Spicoli put it?..... "half conscious corpse with no legs."
