Default Simple solution to the problem: Withhold Malik Scott's purse

I don't know what Malik Scott was supposed to earn from that fight. But here's a novel idea: WITHHOLD HIS PURSE.

Haven't read Word One about this yet... and I'm not sure it will happen. But here's someone trying to overanalyze the KO and claim it was legit:

GIF: Deontay Wilder knocks out Malik Scott, but did the punches really land? - Bad Left Hook

Advice to the author of the piece: Don't overanalyze it. No matter how much super slo-mo is used, it's clear the left was not a KO punch.... and the right didn't even land.

But everyone immediately cries "FIX", when in reality there are TWO possibilities:
    FIX.... or FEAR

To me, "fix" is where the result is preordained by a 3rd party, to satisfy some ulterior motives outside of the ring itself. The "diver" gets paid for his troubles.... and he knows what he's supposed to do. Whereas "fear" is exactly that. Fear is what Bruce Seldon showed in his fight against Mike Tyson. Tyson barely grazed Seldon's head with one of his bombs..... and Seldon immediately looked for a soft place to land. Then he got up all "groggy" and shit and played the hurt part perfectly. IMO..... Scott's case was probably more "fear" than "fix". Didn't they mention that Scott had been dropped in sparring with Wilder previously? So if that's correct..... then Scott already knew that Wilder packs a punch.

But "fix" or "fear"...... don't matter. Withhold the guy's purse, because that was a shameful act in a boxing ring..... and he denied a paying crowd from seeing an honest effort from a professional boxer.

We were all mostly hoping for a competitive fight from Scott, so we could at least gauge Wilder's potential a little better. But instead we got nothing. At least the next fight promises to be the REAL test....... finally. Either Arreola or Stiverne should put up an honest effort against Wilder, unlike Malik.

Hard to withhold it when it was payed up front But yeh, it should be looked at but they won't. I remember Bert Cooper withheld vs Foreman but compared his body was near broke in half. This was a complete hoodwink on the fans.

Other fights like Tyson v Seldon at least the glove touched their heads!

Watching this was a joke! Even Wilder couldnt stop that stupid embarrased grin straight after.

Scott was with it as he went down. Watch his eyes.

They paid him upfront? Whoa! Then it surely was a fix...

I really disagree here. Scott was hit right on the temple with a punch he blinded himself to a decently leveraged left hook from a big strong guy. The right hand missed. The right hand didn't knock him out either. To deny Scott a payday would be criminal, literally. Scott has always been a serious, serious dude. He got hit around the gloves with a left hook from a guy 4 inches bigger than him. You can't convince me that wasn't an honest effort. Scott has never been the "opponent" type and I don't think he willingly did anything last night. I think a good shot knocked the guy out. Showtime had an angle not shown in the article that shows Scott with the muffs on trying to pick off what he thinks is a jab, blinding himself and having a left hook land right around the gloves on the temple. I just can't get on board with this talk.

This is a dangerous thing to do and start taking boxers purse because you think they did not try hard enough.

It looked like a dive to me. I'd at least give Scott a good talking to if I were his promoter. Unless of course he did exactly what I told him to....

How many other 1st round KOs does Wilder have? It's not abnormal for him to level his opponents in a minute or two.

Boxing fans are becoming such whiny bitches!

    Probably FEAR.

The punch dazed him and he just felt like quitting..we will never know.

Your use of the word "opponents" is at best kind, and at worst downright laughable. Chumps is more like it. Or are you going to defend Wilder's list of previous victims with a straight face? Didn't think so.....

Malik was supposed to be a significant step UP. What happened was shameful. You can wish to see a "real" punch all you want, but fact of the matter is there wasn't one there.

On your final point.... everyone that disagrees with you is a "whiny bitch". If you wish to be taken seriously, argue like an adult, instead of resorting to...... well..... how else to put this...... "whiny-bitch-type" insults, which just make you look like........ well....... the very "whiny bitch" you so vehemently decry.

That's a fantastic idea, lets punish the guy that got knocked out because he didn't provide the spectacle we expected. We have no evidence whatsoever that it was a fix, but maybe he quit through fear, which obviously deserves the gallows.

On the contrary, let's reward Scott for a fantastic, competitive showing by giving him a shot at a title.
    Dare we say "PPV"?
