I have never really thought about it and I suppose that makes me quite terrible. I love meat and savor the taste and yet don't think about the animal that is giving me life giving qualities. I should. I am intelligent in some ways, but in other ways I am profoundly ignorant and stupid and this is an area where I am confessedly so. How can you ignore the murder of animals and their forced bondage and slavery? I don't think I am alone in doing so. I would never consider becoming vegetarian as I do enjoy meat and I believe that whilst some humans are capable in the herbivore sphere, I am not. I have little in common with horses, rabbits, or deer, and though I have eaten none of these creatures, I would. I don't have a problem with eating animals and have an odd respect for the culture of eating dogs too. That is the one we are all supposed to wince at, but I think that is hypocritical.

I've never thought about different processes of killing animals, but if they are to be killed, I want their lives to be given more dignity and for them to die as painlessly as possible. I don't think it affects the taste of the meat how they are killed. How an animal is raised will affect the meat, but the difference of rope, knife or bullet, is irrelevant. Just as there is organic farming, I would like to see more meat with animals that were given some time to be free. Intensive farming for instance, isn't very nice. Making money like that is like a teacher who enjoys crammed classrooms and as little student freedom as possible. Why don't you just become a prison guard? However, I have been ignorant on this issue and it is likely going to pester my thoughts.
