It said everything when a "title" match was undercard to this set-up. Sad they need this and blown up shot Morales to give him the BIG kos that fail to impress.
I still wonder how good or bad this current crop is considering morales gave both danny(1st go) and maidana hell and he was shot to shit and way above best weight
I think Maidana has well eclipsed that one, while frankly Garcia has almost gone sideways. He beats Matthysse...much respect...then has a faded Judah out working him and closing strong at final bell. Outfoxed and guiled to Herrera and fortunate to get call...and has to be spoon fed this crap to feel impressive. Matthysse came back against a near jr middle bomber and went to hell and back for sensational ko win. Garcia has a long way to go

They're desperately trying to build him up to be an attractive B side for Floyd. They tried turning him into a Puerto Rican and that didn't work. He looked nothing special against Herrera so they put him in with a lightweight. Probably Peterson next and then maybe Floyd.
I actually think Lamont beats him. I've never jumped on the Garcia train and have always thought that he must pinch himself daily to make sure he's not dreaming.

You are right maidana has well eclipsed that but i dont know what it says about everyone in the division because even then maidana was what top 5 to top 8 at jr welter and morales took him to hell and back, but i did have maidana winning. Then we get treated to part two of this shitfest when broner and matthyse face nobodies here in a month

Peterson can probably take his power. If he can it's an interesting fight. Probably a war of attrition but Garcia defninitely more powerful and he probably wins on the cards. It's a fight that could go either way with the judges so where do they hold it, DC or Philly? Or maybe a neutral venue.

Showtime had an amazing run last year. This year there's been a lot of appearance fights by contrast. We gotlucky with some of them like Matthysse Molina but they're serving up shit sandwiches of late. Hopefully Porter-Brook lives up to expectations.

Danny Jacobs made everyone feel good when he beat Jarrod Fletcher and Danny Garcia did what was expected when he obliterated prohibitive underdog Rod Salka, but in between, another NYC butchering took place.

To his credit, announcer Al Bernstein was the only Showtime Team member to comment that maybe they ought to start thinking about stopping the fight. The doctor must have read his mind because he immediately shouted to the recalcitrant Santiago to do just that. Santiago should have done it earlier, but this begs the question, what was Santana’s corner doing?

Agreed but Garcia is just a tad more powerful and that's one of the things most exaggerated. He's barely over 55% for a ko ratio and the only two guys worthy of note are Khan and a worn out Morales. Keep in mind that a rogue hotdog chucked into the ring could catch Khan standing straight up or off balance and stop him.

If you really think about Garcia's career, he's had ONE tough fight on paper (Matthysse). He was the prohibitive favorite in the rest of his fights.

Danny is someone I really want to continue rooting for. He seems like a very genuine guy but I don't understand the direction his career is going. He should be going uphill with his competition but instead he seems to be chasing sure things if such a thing can be said in boxing. f he continues this his rep will go down the shitter. He needs to prove himself as the champ and be the great boxer his father says he is.

Favorite over Khan? I don't think that's true.

Totally blanked on Khan. Surprised he wasn't a favorite over Holt. I'm just not a big fan, I guess.

Garcia has definitely fought good competition thus far. He spent have any elite names on his resume yet but he has some good names. The problem is that if more people knew who herrera was he would would have gotten more props for taking such a dangerous fight.

He better fight an actual opponent next fight though.
