Default Floyd says beating women is cool!

Speaking on the matter of running back for the Baltimore Ravens, Ray Rice and recent accounts of him punching his wife (fiancée at the time) in the face. Video of the account has been widely circulated.

NFL overreacted on Ray Rice, Floyd Mayweather says - ESPN

LAS VEGAS -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he believes the NFL should have stuck with its original discipline of Ray Rice, saying the league was overly influenced by new video showing Rice knocking out his then-fiancee in an Atlantic City, New Jersey, casino elevator.

The boxing superstar -- who has had his own domestic abuse issues -- said Tuesday that he didn't think the original two-game suspension should be changed because of the video.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. -- who has had his own domestic abuse issues -- said Tuesday he didn't think Ray Rice's original two-game suspension should be changed by the NFL because of video.

"I think there's a lot worse things that go on in other people's households, also," Mayweather said. "It's just not caught on video, if that's safe to say."

Mayweather, who spent two months in a Las Vegas jail in 2012, still maintains his innocence even after pleading guilty to reduced domestic abuse charges stemming from an attack on his former girlfriend while their children watched. Had Mayweather not taken the plea bargain, he would have gone to trial on felony charges that could have gotten him up to 34 years in prison.

Mayweather also was named in a civil lawsuit last week by his former fiancee, who said the fighter assaulted her and kept her from leaving his Las Vegas mansion. In addition, Shantel Jackson said the boxer publicly humiliated her by posting online a sonogram showing her pregnant with twins and then claiming she aborted them.

Mayweather said he has been falsely accused many times.

"Like I've said in the past, no bumps, no bruises, no nothing," Mayweather said. "With O.J. and Nicole, you seen pictures. With Chris Brown and Rihanna, you seen pictures. With (Chad) Ochocinco and Evelyn, you seen pictures. You guys have yet to see any pictures of a battered woman, a woman who says she was kicked and beaten (by Mayweather). So I just live my life and try to stay positive, and try to become a better person each and every day."

Mayweather made his remarks before a small group of reporters at the MGM Grand hotel, where he made a formal fight week arrival for his rematch Saturday with Argentina's Marcos Maidana. Mayweather won a majority decision over Maidana in May but was roughed up at times in perhaps the toughest of his recent string of fights.

The unbeaten 37-year-old also said he plans to fight just twice more after Maidana, finishing his career next September. He didn't specifically dismiss Manny Pacquiao as an opponent for one of those bouts -- as he has repeatedly done in the past -- although he said reports there had been talks on a possible fight were completely false.

It's ironic Floyd would come to Ray Rice's defense seeing how Floyd has landed in the hoosegow for the exact same thing.

That being said didn't Floyd's ex have a few abortions with which Floyd was NOT on board with?

Hitting women IS wrong, there's 0 doubt about it HOWEVER it's not that women in general never do wrong, it's just a social contract that men (most men) abide by. Women can do plenty to make you WANT to hit them, but you just don't do it. I can't put myself in Floyd's place nor can I put myself in Floyd's ex's place because I have no clue what happened before the abortions and how their relationship was. Women can manipulate emotions in men and athletes who use emotions as a supplement to motivation can EASILY be put in a redline/danger zone place look at how Jay-Z handled the situation with his sister in-law vs how Ray Rice handled his woman...Jay-Z was calm and restrained his anger, Ray Rice went to a place where it's like he was taking on a safety and he just acted with a brutal physical assault because that's what he has done with emotion his entire life (I venture to guess that part, having played football in my past I know the feeling) and it is very difficult for some people to turn that switch off once it's on....it takes a lot of patience and a lot of effort and a lot of knowledge about yourself.

In the end, I think Floyd would be best suited to stay out of the spotlight when it comes to domestic violence because it will always shine back on his prison sentence justly or unjustly. Floyd may have changed or he may have just lost control as any human would if they found out their unborn child/children had been aborted without their consent or knowledge.

What does FLoyds ex having an abortion have to do with him, how does it in any way vindicate his actions or attitude?

The fact that Floyd would say "worse things go in in most households, and don't get caught on camera", pretty much tells you what kind of person he is. Really, worse things go in most households In what sick little world is that true? He's talking about a giant of a man who knocked his wife out cold! If most men are guilty of worse things than that at any point in their life, may a meteor strike the earth tomorrow. Fucks sake.

Other households ,not most other. The glaring thing there for me was the fact your laws could of got him 34 years if he hadnt pleaded a lesser case against himself! They really have you guys by the curlies dont they.

Is it true there wasnt a mark on Floyds misses or did he smash her camera phone up?

Listen, pal, if you are going to do a post a least get your facts straight. Money May did not say hitting women is cool.

But on the subject of Ray Rice. I think Mayweather is bang on correct and I agree with him when he says the NFL have over-reacted.

Rice has been released by the Ravens in the prime of his career and they don’t even want any other NFL team even giving him a shot.

    Taking away a man’s livelihood ?

They are pretty much trying to destroy the guy.

They have also completely ignored the fact that Hope Solo, goal keeper for the women’s U.S. National Soccer team, is back on the playing field after being in court to answer for domestic violence charges against her.

Again Floyd is 100% bang on the money when says worse stuff goes on behind closed doors that people do not know about.

Check out Rice’s wife now on instagram saying his getting cut from the team is “horrific”.

Sounds to me, like even she's feels a bit guilty for this. Shame on TMZ.com for releasing this.

Don’t misunderstand me - I’m certainly not advocating men beating their wives or girlfriends for no reason at all.

But what you'll get more and more is women blocking a man’s way out of a potentially volatile situation or attack him in a space where an exit is not readily available, such as a moving automobile or an elevator a la Solange and Jay Z.

Floyd was impressed because Rice hit her with the same check left hook Floyd hit Hatton with (causing her to face plant into the elevator wall like Hatton face planted into the ring post).

Next honest post from OP will be the first.
Floyd is a POS but he is right worse things happen. Hitting woman is wrong but some say 1 out 4 women were molested in youth. What's worse?
Little boys getting defined, little girls. Daily abuse rather than solitary events. Murder. Consistent psychological abuse that changes a growing person for life. I could go on and on, worse things do happen. Acknowledging that truth doesn't dismiss the horror of what Rice did. But we knew what he did and it was a 2 game suspension. That was a joke to begin with and the NFL covered their asses by being harsh (fuck it kick him out of the league for life) by their standards because of the video. People must see that the video should be irrelevant, it was the event that was horrific. Making the video more powerful than the event is f'd up, just twisted logic

Well let's say for argument's sake that Floyd was excited about the baby(babies) coming. I wonder how THAT would go....

Not defending his actions, just saying he could have been put in a pretty dark emotional place by that

Oh sure, but it's not his decision whatsoever at the end of the day, especially given the way he treats women. Besides, aborting Floyds children is practically community service, Miss Jackson should be given Government grants for her effort :P

I don't know how anyone can actually defend a guy that size just decking a woman, what if she had been seriously injured?
