I live quite close to NYC. I spent some time doing trauma counseling with some family members. I did this only until NYC regrouped so my experiences were limited. I did have the pleasure of knowing of few NYFD firefighters who were some of the first on scene. Talk about a bunch of brave people.

Nobody I know died in the tragedy but I did witness firsthand what it did to people. One thing I can say is it brought the country together.A Lot of restaurants and bars that could operate stopped charging as so many people had no power. There was an oversupply of volunteers to hand out water and other staples to communities. It was a surreal part of American history. I hope it is something no other country needs to experience.

Maybe I am insensitive, but my gut is to always look at the source of a problem and these people would not be dead were it not for the complicity of the US government. What about the millions dead in Vietnman, the million dead in Iraq, and the bombing of Hiroshima? There is a pattern in these events and the source is always the same.

Yes, of course I feel bad for the people who have died. I feel bad for anyone who has died anywhere and all life is equal in value. I get angry at what I see as being hypocrisy and considering what some nations do to others constantly, I find it somewhat sour that this particular event is supposed to be more meaningful than others. I don't trust nor like the elites and anniversaries are a manipulation of human feelings. The elites caused it and then want to stir up feelings. Individual families should mourn their losses, but it isn't a collective thing, otherwise we would be mourning every day of the year for all the others that these elites have erased. It's boil in the bag patriotism. I don't care what colour you are, you are all equal. The best way to respect the dead of 9-11 is to simply stop killing more innocent people. How many dead since 9-11? Faceless millions! Millions! The vulgarity is what is truly offensive. And the loss of freedoms and mass surveillance. It has really made the world a safe, happy place. I will stop talking as I make hypocrites angry and I get angry in return at the hideousness of it all.

Miles, I started the post and I related it to no other attack or tragedy. I do not relate this to any political propaganda or anything of the matter. Simply looking at the loss off life of thousands of people sitting behind their desks not planning any military attacks and the over 300 firemen who lost their lives trying to rescue these people. This post was not intended to be political, simply a tribute. I hope you can grasp this.

Yes the person complaining about each is an insufferable twat living on the edge of sanity spouting off the most ridiculous childish nonsense to what end nobody knows....perhaps this is to make miles feel more important, perhaps this is to attempt to shame America/Americans, perhaps miles is just a demented sad bastard with nothing better to do.

What I DO know is that if the Saddo's family was all gathered at a watering hole tipping back a few tankards of beer and miles spouted off this shit it would not take long before he'd be eating a few knuckle sandwiches and shitting out the teeth he happened to swallow when I bashed his face in.

But don't mind the feelings of us neanderthalic Americans.....carry on, I'm certain you'll feel pleased with the reactions you get.

I always think of those last men on the last flight who had been on the phone to their relatives and were told the other planes had hit targets, they knew what their fate was to be and went and kicked in the flight door and brought the plane down early so fewer people would die.
They stand out on the day,it wasnt their job they just bit the bullet, real heroic stuff; that guys last call to his misses saying goodbye we have to try this out now,was so sad and so inspiring.

    Kudos for this, Miles.
But reading through the whole thread, this should have been your last post on it.

Man up, walk away, and start another thread if you'd like.
