Is distribution of weight irrelevant? For power.

Understand its the floor that moves you. Body is there to move the head otherwise its going k nowhere that it has to go back to where it started for a reason, balance, proprioceptive ability. You have 3 things where if in line govern movement Head, where the ears are, Hips centre of gravity coxxys and Feet. Its where they are in relation to each other that generates power, through and with the help of skin. Bodies biggest organ.

I never liked stances with weight even between the legs. That's how you end up with stiff hipped guys, standing straight up with their heads high and in the middle. I prefer weight more on the back foot, back hip I should say. This is only starting position of course, weight changes when you need to punch or move...most of the time at least.

Most important thing is the ability to move your weight with control though. Regardless of where it starts if it's stuck in one place you'll only ever be half what you could be.

would it better to distribute the weight over the hind foot in order to lift of the big toe or is weight distribution done over the centre?

Its understand mechanics of movement. Think walking the 1st upright thing we do after standing, where is the foot position when we move forward, as regards drive. Also your walking gait is your natural balance, singles coming from your centre of gravity Hip area. Which is controlled by the Head. Then you will understand better movement, its worth a try..

me likes your biomechanics of a punch nothing fancy just simple movement for fast and accurate punching. but could a short fighter benefit from this. like mike tyson?
