Who should Antony Joshua fight for a first real test ?

They are graduating his opponents well. The only thing they could do better is speed up his schedule.

Joshua is a pup, the one thing he has got his time, why the need to speed things up?

If the Bakhtov fight happens and Anthony blows him out early, then maybe an old campaigner is needed, perhaps not McCall, but Briggs should be able to give him rounds.

You cant possibly think Joshua is ready to fight Shannon Briggs... he may want to take McCall in an 8 rounder... but her certainly is not ready for someone like Briggs.

If Bakhtov is dominated by Joshua, then yes someone like Briggs would be needed to challenge Anthony. Briggs was flaky in his pomp nearly two decades ago! He would carry the experience of a two decade career, and no doubt cause Joshua problems, but I think in this scenario Joshua would come though the test.

At this stage, if this happens tomorrow, or even before the end of 2015, expect Joshua to get worn down and knocked out in a very embarrassing fashion.

A win/circus event doesn't do anything for Joshua. Briggs is a self amused spectacle and little else today when it comes to heavyweight relevance. If Joshua wants 'rounds' he can beat on a heavy bag. He needs guys with ability not simply thick skulls.

We always forget to factor in fighting skill when we talk about young talent going up against older, more experienced fighters. David Price vs. Tony Thompson is a prime example.

I don't think any prospect will want a part of price , if you ko him , then they will argue an old journey man did it , however if price tags you on the chin he can knock most fighters out , he would be mad to fight price. I think put him in with either fury , the pup first then old big gob.
