A bit sad that the thread is ending this way. Brand is doing a lot in local issues and he is able to break down the absurdity of the media very well. There is a lot of hate because he has money, is a comedian, and sells books in supermarkets, but do you agree with the message? Okay, you say he is a cunt, but does he say something that resonates? I think it does and Brand is giving it a shot. It can cause no harm.

Kirklands ideas are well and good, but will never happen. This elite will never atone and thus revolution is the only answer. It doesn't mean blood, but proper anarchy. People taking control of their working environments in collectives. The City of London probably has to go. Can anyone imagine Blair saying sorry like a good boy? Me neither, stick him in The Hague. Deal with them all properly. If people would just stick together, it wouldn't take much to get these people out. It really wouldn't.

Fuck no I don't agree with what he says. You want to take revenge on the elite...for what? If you peons were elite I'm certain you'd be worse than the people who have the majority of the wealth right now why? Well look at the countless revolutions, look at the countless times socialism was tried....you know what profits they reaped? Poverty, death, injustice...on a scale unimaginable to most and yet you lot bellyache over Capitalism which pulled the average man out of the muck and mire of true poverty. Sissy ass socialists....if only you lot were an endangered species

I don't mind Russell Brand. Sometimes he talks sense, sometimes he doesn't. He isn't a great thinker for sure but he has more about him than many.

Regardless of whether it's Russell Brand I don't agree with the view that someone with money is a hypocrite for standing up for poor people. That newsreader was trying to shame him for having a high rent which he can meet yet talking for people that can't afford theirs as if that is somehow hypocritical. I'm not sure how that is hypocritical. It isn't.

Anyway, not a great fan of his and he does irritate me at times, but I think his heart is in the right place.

The media attitude towards Brand ironically shows how redundant they are. They need him on Question Time (set up) yet have to slag him off in The Sun, with massive hypocrisy.

Burn down all British newspapers as they are all garbage! That is a factual statement and please ban the BBC from this country as it is rather poo. I want Russia Today! People should want truth tellers and decent media. The BBC and government spin time is gone. Nobody on this earth believes them. How could they?

Welcome to the new reality. It's time.

Edit: Russell Brand has done a great job. He has paid attention and the views are respectable, and the media response shameful. I will demand the end of the BBC here and the introduction of RT. I hope the world over people are doing the same. The bad guys are marked and the revolution will be televised.

    Is Russia Today reliable?
Meaning does it tell you the truth? I think it tells you what 'they' don't want you to know. Sure, it's the truth in that regard. They couldn't get away with it if it wasn't. Is the BBC reliable? No. A case in point is that of Melanie Shaw who revealed evidence of massive child abuse and the BBC doesn't want to know. The BBC is a shill group that has a history of nurturing paedophiles. It has no interest and of course neither does the government which has a history of abusing children too. Two of a kind, I guess. Russia Today is pretty solid news IMO and it's where I head to first everyday. I leave the UK papers to last and often have a giggle. They are unbelievably bad.

Russia Today is not what you expect, but it is reliable. They listen to Finkelstein, Chomsky, people that would never get on CNN......though of course Dershovitz the torture advocator got plenty of airtime on CNN....Russia Today is needed more and more, it would help. I'm serious, I want the BBC out of this country. They are backers of war crimes.

I dislike him because he's full of hot air and lacks true conviction... A lot of what he says may 'resonate', but it's nothing profound that most people don't already think, it's condescending...

You don't get a revolution by being absentee... When in history has that ever happened? You just allow the politicians to ignore you more and pander to the ones still voting (businessmen, landlords, the wealthy etc). Naive
