Can a boxer chew a piece of gum in between rounds?

I always wondered if a boxer could chew gum, it's been one of the great mysteries to me about this sport, along with the question of has any boxer ever earned a shaver??

Which of the 2, though, would you give the nod to? Gum or shaver?
