I run a labour agency and my head is always buzzing with small things like workers not turning up, searching for new workers, trying to keep the work stream going etc. Come the end of the week I'm fatigued and I like to do fuck all and relax. The dinner boxing shows that I was judging on were on a Friday night which meant pissing around getting a tuxedo ready then sitting ringside with a liker in each hand counting the landed punches of each boxer not being able to have a drink and nigh on falling asleep while sat on your own. It was boring but I did it.
One night one of our boxers lost and he is popular on facebook. He went on facebook the next morning and basically called all the judges cunts. I saw it and explained what he didn't want to hear and took abuse from a couple of the other lads to boot.
Also, one of the coaches went on and did the same. Just looking for likes. Putting suh cheesy rubbish as "my blood sweat and tears, my boxers". He wasn't even the head coach! The actual head coach (my old coach, who asked me to become a judge with an eye on becoming a ref) agreed with all the decisions which also included his own grand daughter being out worked. There are three judges and all the decisions were unanimous.
I basically thought, fuck you I'm not wasting my time to just be the cunt everyone talks about on facebook the next day. Iv got more important things to do with my time than waste it on people who don't like the truth.
The pathetic thing is I offered my time to go up the club and talk them all through what a judge is looking for. The coach who went on faebook was due to come to my house that day to look at a job I wanted doing. He sheepishly text me to see if I still wanted him up. I did and when he came I collared him about it and asked him to explain to me what a scoring shot is and he said it has to be a punch that snaps the head back. I explained its a shot that blah blah blah, lands on the target area with the scoring part of the glove (knuckle) with effort (Not just a flicking jab). Like I said, my idea was to have everyone taught this up the club on a weekend then het the boxers sat round the ring with the clickers and score a few rounds of sparring. This way they know what they are supposed to be doing. They weren't interested and even now they are still criticising the judges.
The judges don't go criticising the coaches who cant coach people to win. No one wants to hear the truth but if they accepted it they could improve, instead its everyone else's fault and the boxers are the ones who end up suffering.
