War is war. How else to beat an enemy into submission if you don't strike hard and dirty? I'm sure it sucks for all the victims in Dresden... but Hitler had put his whole country in harm's way by wanting to exterminate all Jews and take over every country in Europe. The guy was deranged. Easy to second guess Dresden, but the Allies needed some way to dissuade Hitler from continuing his dastardly ways. Same with the bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Horrible tragedy... but in the end thousands if now millions of lives were spared. War itself sucks. It's not dueling with pistols and white gloves.
