Can someone confirm if there is limit on the amount of guns you can own in the USA?

    Sick selfish laws.

Unfortunately there is no limit. It's wide open, so you can claim that you need four machine guns, five shotguns, half a dozen handguns, and two or three high-powered rifles to protect your home and your family. That being said, you can always try your luck and claim you need a rocket launcher and half a dozen hand grenades as well.
@TitoFan. Why should it matter to anybody else how many guns I own? It is not your business. If I use a gun to commit a crime, what crime could I possibly commit that is not already going to catch me an extra 20 years?
The simple fact of owning a lot of guns....if you and I went shooting with 15, 20 different guns, you would be a convert.

    Who knows, grey.... I might.

Still, I think my objection is pretty much summed up below.

Look at the Adam Lanza shooting spree. The guy pretty helped himself to an assortment of all sorts of guns owned by his mother, much like Arnold shopping for guns in that armory in that very old movie, "Commando". The woman, had she lived, should have been brought up on charges of major stupidity on at least two counts.

Having that many guns easily accessible in her home.
And two..... with a mentally unstable son like that, she should've never been allowed to have any guns in her house in the first place.

    It was all too easy.

    Pleeease grey......

I take it you've never been a parent. Somehow I find it hard to believe that little Adam was a perfectly normal boy all his life, raised normally as all other children..... and somehow developed this mental instability and murderous rage that made him steal those guns.... kill her.... and wipe out an elementary school. And all this time the mother had no clue there "might be a problem".

You believe that.... and I've got some beachfront property in Nebraska I'd like to sell you.

That's the problem with the pro-gun crowd. Nothing is up for debate. It's all in.... take it or leave it.... my way or the highway. No second-guessing that maybe there's something wrong with this picture. Shit..... I didn't live with Adam Lanza and even I can tell from his picture that there were a few loose bolts in there.

I think I said this in the other thread, but they should make a rule that if you have a bowl cut, you can't buy a gun.

That would probably be either him or his mother.

I like the rule, though. If you consciously subject yourself to having a cereal bowl placed over your head, and a pair of scissors to finish a one-minute haircut..... then go out into the street like that..... then no..... no guns for you, young man.

As much as I detest guns I would agree with Fenster.

Americans love their guns and I would rather have one to protect my household knowing the man coming in will most likely have one.

If you did suffer from mental illness the fact that you can use those 7 guns is much more of a potential to damage and kill compared to not having one.

Lets just imagine for a second if guns were illegal in the usa...you guys worship the guns.

You answered your own question a couple of posts ago, and New Orleans is a beautiful city man, why don't you just read up on this a little? Also, check out the statistics for gun crimes committed with illegal firearms as opposed to registered ones in the USA. If they suddenly made all of them illegal, they would overwhelmingly be hurting the responsible owners who have the same concerns and reason for owning guns as you just admitted you can appreciate.

    If I may....

Now this is Baton Rouge and not New Orleans but how different is it really? And see the firearms shown in this video I'll go out on a limb and say they ARE NOT LEGAL...probably not registered, probably not licensed, probably owned and operated by felons. So for your little checklist (illegal, illegal, and illegal).

They are also firing off multiple rounds within the city limits which is.......care to take a guess

    yeah ILLEGAL

Just because so many criminals and thugs own and use firearms, doesn't mean the average Joe needs legal guns of his own...a fter you're murdered, the cops will probably catch them and a judge will probably convict them. And crime scene cleaners do great work and are sure to get those pesky blood stains out of your carpet.

All gun control does is make it harder for the good guys to protect themselves. We know that, everyone with a clue knows that.

Americans should have multiple guns, placed around the house in safe, strategic locations.

You are from Canada, you want them all to shoot themselves and die.
