Can someone confirm if there is limit on the amount of guns you can own in the USA?

Sick selfish laws.

Unfortunately there is no limit. It's wide open, so you can claim that you need four machine guns, five shotguns, half a dozen handguns, and two or three high-powered rifles to protect your home and your family. That being said, you can always try your luck and claim you need a rocket launcher and half a dozen hand grenades as well.
@TitoFan. Why should it matter to anybody else how many guns I own? It is not your business. If I use a gun to commit a crime, what crime could I possibly commit that is not already going to catch me an extra 20 years?
The simple fact of owning a lot of guns....if you and I went shooting with 15, 20 different guns, you would be a convert.

Who knows, grey.... I might.

Still, I think my objection is pretty much summed up below.

Look at the Adam Lanza shooting spree. The guy pretty helped himself to an assortment of all sorts of guns owned by his mother, much like Arnold shopping for guns in that armory in that very old movie, "Commando". The woman, had she lived, should have been brought up on charges of major stupidity on at least two counts.

Having that many guns easily accessible in her home.
And two..... with a mentally unstable son like that, she should've never been allowed to have any guns in her house in the first place.

It was all too easy.
