What's funny is hearing Canelo grouping himself with Cotto in saying that neither are 160-pounders. What a crock of sh*t. Especially given their recent 30-day pre-fight weights. Canelo is GGG's size right now, if not bigger. Of course I'm rooting for Cotto to win. But if Canelo beats Cotto, it'll be interesting to watch Canelo and his team do the Michael Jackson "moonwalk" when asked about fighting GGG. "Ducking" will be taken to a whole new level.

Canelo has a shot at the middleweight crown and should he win it, the best man in the division is being dictated to point his weight south to 160. Roy Jones went up to get his. Micheal Spinks went up to get his shot and history was made. Neither asked the champ to come down. If you want to be the king of the hill you shouldn't be allowed to try to make him take the elevator down. If a man has been at a certain weight and he is asked to come down, it hurts and advantage serf on the bottom of the hill. Henry Armstrong fought at three levels and as a champ defending three titles at three weights never asked anyone to come down. Sugar Ray Robinson never asked Joe Maxim to come down. Emile Griffith didn't ask Dick Tiger and so on. If you are climbing then you have the burden of truth. I used to admire Canelo but this cry baby stuff has got to stop. You are mistaken. Same tree, same bark. They are both complicit and Alvarez is doing nothing more then following Cotto's marketing gimmick. They are complicit and equal partners in this charade. Both are also dishonourable because they both agreed to fight the guy next in order to cash in on millions while holding the middleweight title hostage because they had and have no intention of doing so. Ergo they are also both liars. Both crap on boxing. Both water down the division to root rot. Cotto had to be there for this thread to start. To say that this thread is about Alvarez and Alvarez alone is myopic. I'm not sure how Cotto cant be involved. He shares in the responsibility for creating this whole thing. We all know Canelo is easily a MW, but if he's that desperate to avoid GGG that he boils down to 154 , that's up to him. My problem is that he doesn't , he goes to 155 and shit like that.
If he was honest and said "I'm going up to MW, and I want to beat everyone, but I won't be ready for GGG first fight out, it'll take time", again fine. The Cotto fight is a good fight on its own merit, it doesn't need a title attached to it and shouldn't have one (unless it's the 154 strap).
