I was going to reply by saying Leon Spinks after winning the title after his 8th fight but he went on to have 46 fights.

That's true, but my point is that Beterbiev is 31yrs old and had 9 fights , Lomachenko is 28 and had 6 pro fights.They're just getting started, hopefully.

At the rate that people fight nowadays, both of them will struggle to get past 15 pro fights.
I fully appreciate that they both had stellar amateur careers and should both live up to their promise in the pro ranks, although they won't have many fights.

Think there is something to that. We all talk about green guys winning trinkets too early and levels getting deep next but straight from amateur to every single fight being billed as a super showcase? That has to catch up eventually. Haven't heard a thing about Beterbiev rehab after surgery but looks to have a return date in June.
