The campaign actually had very little to do with what will actually be achieved by the exit from the EU. The topic that came up time and again was immigration, and the free movement of people. However, if we want the access to the free market of the EU, then free movement of people goes intrinsically with that, and if we want one without the other, the tariffs will be punitative.

The other aspect to the debate was the funding sent to the EU. Not only did we have a rebate and contribute less of our GDP as a percentage than any other country in the EU, the money that came back went to the poorest areas and most important industries. The question is, do we really believe that the wealthy English elite will give a flying f*** if Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland suffer without the support of a greater organization. Frankly, we are in a situation now where the wealthy will consolidate, and the poorest will suffer with rising prices and salaries that come nowhere near to keeping up with that inflation.

People remember where they were when Kennedy was shot.

People remember where they were when the Berlin Wall came down.

On this equally momentous day, when the UK voted to leave the European Union ..... I was lighting dog farts down the pub. 🤔

Seriously, what kind of pub allows you to light dog farts? The EU certainly would not allow that kind of activity at a pub....
