Wlad would not be easy to beat for any of the great champions because of his size and style, which Manny Steward perfected but I do feel that killer fighters like Foreman and Tyson could land on him and knock him out over 36 minutes.
Tssk tssk Master, Wlad isn't to be commended for anything

But I suspect AJ will knock him cold in the new year. I'd love to see Povetkin get another shot at him with a referee that will deduct points for clinching.

If Wlad can't hold, he gets knocked out cold. Hey, that rhymes!

Can you imagine what real boxing champs of the past must think of Wlad's nonsense?
He was also 40 years old and had a wife who was just hospitalized for postpartum depression, but I suppose that's no excuse.

The height difference with Wlad and Povetkin lead to a lot of clinches. If a short fighter gets inside on the tall fighter the tall fighter ties up....pretty simple stuff really, but apparently not to everyone.

Yes "real" champs of the past .....most of those guys think Wladimir is a great champion, but I am guessing that just does not compute with you for whatever reason.

Who are you trying to fool? Clinch-ko clinches EVERYONE, he does not discriminate!

Not fooling anyone, just saying what would cause that in that specific fight is all.....or can't I say that?

Also, so you're saying that the referees for Wlad's fights typically don't follow the rules themselves/don't know the rules? These are guys who are reffing World title fights mind you.

Wladimir is a top 20 all time for me.

In terms of all round ability he isnt that great but he made several natural or manufactured attributes work for him. He dominated the competition for years and deserves his place up there with some of the best.

Regarding the clinching. I dont have an issue with clinching as a defence mechanism, if you get hurt, grab the cunt, want a breather, grab the cunt.

Wladimir routinely used it excessively, sometimes for defence, sometimes because he simply didnt know what to do next and that's not acceptable for the main man in the main division. Wladimir sticking out a two punch combo then grabbing because he doesnt know how to safely finish it, is the same as a full back receiving the ball from the keeper, taking two touches and then launching it into row Z because he doesnt know any better. It's not pretty, but neither is Tony Adams and he had a pretty decent career. And he fucked Caprice.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

While they do know the rules, as I said before when you have a guy with the money, power and influence of Klitschko (who is also promoting the fight ), you can get more leeway.

Ending a big fight by DQ is a very controversial thing, and a lot of refs are also naturally gun shy to do it.

Gun shy ref, gun shy champion... bad combo!

OK and 100% of them have been that way? These refs haven't even been warning Wlad to stop....seems like if holding is a foul and fouls need to be called for the health of the fighters involved and for the legitimacy of the contest then why won't the ref's even warn him? Money? It's just money?

But hey, you think that way, there's nothing wrong with it, keep on it.....what would boxing be without your Eagle eye for fouls

Is this a new form of internet debate that I'm not aware of? Just keep posing questions that have already been answered?

Is this what the kids are doing now a days?

Wlad stinks, he was a horrific example of how a champion boxer should fight, and he killed off all interest in the HW division. Facts are facts!

Have you heard of all the forms of debate on the internet?

What's wrong with trying to get answers?

    Whose kids?

Most of the time wlads fights were that way, holding, leaning, cheating

and holding is a foul which you cant really argue against

again, if the ref doesn't call it then it may as well not have happened at all. Sorry, sorry you are all upset and angry at that, but that is the reality of the situation.
