Oh wait hahaha was it aimed at me for my "someone has told him he can get the 50 by fighting someone who has never had a professional bout" comment?
If so, I hate to say it but I wasn't the one who told him that, unfortunately it looks like someone else is writing his name in the history books and not me, do I agree with it? nope, will me disagreeing with it change it? Nope, regardless of how farcical the fight is will the 50-0 record stand? Yep
I'd much rather see him in a proper fight but it is what it is, someone somewhere has decided this is worthy of another notch on his bedpost and there ain't much that anyone can do other than go with the flow.
I've just been reading random UFC forums with idiots who honestly believe mcgregor will do floyd- early ko for the most.
Fuck this. It's now boxing v UFC and a chance for floyd to make him look pathetic.
I'm right behind this now. Come on Floyd!!!
Hell if Floyd schools him then EA might make another Fight Night game and forget UFC.
#teamfloyd #boxingrules #impayingforthis etc
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
This is a proper fight. This is actually one for the purists. This is a fight that has much more in common with the spirit, history and legacy of boxing than any fight since Fury Schooled Wlad. For all the people chastising anyone who might watch it or lend it any credence I would suggest taking a deep breath before you reveal even more of your ignorance. This is prize fighting. This is what boxing is. A spectacle, a contest, a battle in which competitors take on all comers.
FAIRGROUND BOOTHS
GYSPIES
BARE KNUCKLE FIGHTING IN FIELDS
GRAPPLERS AGAINST DEFENSIVE WIZARDS
THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF THE NOBLE ART.
Jem Mace and Bob Fitzsimmons would have jumped at a similar opportunity and watched this one too if they were here.
Does McGregor stand much of a chance? Not really but UFC and MMA have a deep relationship with boxing. Boxing is a martial art and it has always evolved. The daft idea that you can hold it down and tame it and stick a label on it because of scientific progress and the growth of silly sanctioning bodies, is preposterous.
The whole thing is a throwback and yes by modern standards Floyd is avoiding a real challenge with so much quality in an around his weight in boxing...but
Legacy and actual achievements is a completely subjective thing anyway. Floyd could fight GGG and beat him handily and history might just write Golovkin off. History might look back with hindsight and think that the full circle was achieved by Floyd fighting McGregor.
Will i watch it ? Not sure
The biggest issue i have is with Oscar suggesting that boxing will not survive.
Boxing is bigger than Oscar, Bigger than Floyd and will continue to evolve, duck, dodge, weave and get back up however many times people suggest it is done for.

Not sure of this guy's credentials but he put a lot of work into drawing a conclusion Connor is in this 😂

Oh fuck yeah, I've literally just switched fight night champion off, a new fight night would be awesome, I spunked out on a PS4 a few months ago and I barely ever touch it, as soon as I am having a few cans and listening to my music my PS3 goes on, I never play anything other than fight night...its only because it goes well with beer and music and its easy but that's not the point
Oscar is just pissed because it will eclipse Cottos fight on the same night. And his fishnets are tight.
McGregor has all of the passes here. Oh he's not a boxer, oh he's handcuffed without full skills, Oh he didn't belong there in the first place. This shit belongs in a circus not a boxing ring.
What we need more of are geriatric Ray Mercers going over and knocking the shat out of some mma biguns.
Isn't the 50-0 thing about retiring an undefeated reigning champion? Floyd will not be a champion. He will be a guy coming off a circus fight. And no matter how much people wish it will tarnish his legacy, it won't. What he has done is done. Just as if anyone would suggest it will enhance his legacy is wrong too. This fight means nothing but money. Unless he loses.
The more I think about the fight, the more alright I am with it. It's a spectacle. It's like if you put the best college team against the best professional team. Sure, the pro team steamrolls them, but I would watch it nonetheless. It would just be interesting.
This fight is just interesting in that same regard. The main problem is that it costs money to watch it. I would stream it, but I can't imagine that I won't have people I know ordering it and I wouldn't mind throwing in $10.
This fight is a complete gimmick but I'm still interested in seeing it.
To all the people that think that McGregor has a chance and that Floyd is just after the money
I just watched this with the sound off, the big fella had his number he was fucking smashing him, I mean they were literally carrying Floyd out of the ring but he showed heart, courage and absolute strength and he overcome someone twice the size of him, I've never seen this before but it just shows that Floyd isn't only the biggest star when it comes to boxing but he is the best when it comes to wrestling , he is already a cross over star, just wait until he choke slams McGregor and becomes the star of UFC, I can't wait
I mean I'm a big lad but I don't reckon I could take the big fucker, Floyd showed some real balls there.
Then let him get his money and be done with it. He'll get his millions... his fans will see him one more time... and everybody will be happy. But don't make a mockery of the sport and everyone else in it, by adding a tainted victory to your record. It's not a professional boxing match because one of the opponents is not a professional boxer.
If we're going to go that route, then let's legitimize RJJ's travesty win over Vyron Phillips. Oh wait... that was counted as a "W" also.
Never mind.
F*ck it. Bring out the cotton candy, jugglers, and rubber red noses..... and let's join the circus.
Ha, exactly, for as much we all despise this fight it is the biggest fight of the year, it'll eclipse GGG and ginger pubes, it'll break fucking records and as much as the boxing fans and the UFC fans despise the very essence of the fight and try to put it down it will happen, we can't do fuck all about it
boxing fans and UFC fans don't come into the mix here mate, it's being sold to the casual fan and unfortunately there is a lot more casual fans who are sold on big adverts and flashy slogans than there are real boxing and UFC fans and that is the market they are aiming for.
I'm sure the UFC forums hold exactly the same view as us.
