Who has said it's legitimate? More false arguments

If he takes the win as his 50th career professional boxing victory, he's legitimizing it. And his followers will be right behind him.
Oh wait hahaha was it aimed at me for my "someone has told him he can get the 50 by fighting someone who has never had a professional bout" comment?

If so, I hate to say it but I wasn't the one who told him that, unfortunately it looks like someone else is writing his name in the history books and not me, do I agree with it? nope, will me disagreeing with it change it? Nope, regardless of how farcical the fight is will the 50-0 record stand? Yep

I'd much rather see him in a proper fight but it is what it is, someone somewhere has decided this is worthy of another notch on his bedpost and there ain't much that anyone can do other than go with the flow.

Not aimed at you, relax.

As for the 50-0, maybe they can invoke the asterisk thingy. Like when Barry Bonds broke all sorts of homerun records (baseball) with the help of steroids and whatnot. The asterisk is the establishment's way of cheapening the feat.

Isn't the 50-0 thing about retiring an undefeated reigning champion? Floyd will not be a champion. He will be a guy coming off a circus fight. And no matter how much people wish it will tarnish his legacy, it won't. What he has done is done. Just as if anyone would suggest it will enhance his legacy is wrong too. This fight means nothing but money. Unless he loses.

Then let him get his money and be done with it. He'll get his millions... his fans will see him one more time... and everybody will be happy. But don't make a mockery of the sport and everyone else in it, by adding a tainted victory to your record. It's not a professional boxing match because one of the opponents is not a professional boxer.

If we're going to go that route, then let's legitimize RJJ's travesty win over Vyron Phillips. Oh wait... that was counted as a "W" also.
Never mind.

F*ck it. Bring out the cotton candy, jugglers, and rubber red noses..... and let's join the circus.

Should we goback and erase all Sugar Ray Robinsons wins over guys making their debute or were winless? Because there are a lot of them. And some when he had over 100 fights. It doesn't change the great things SRR did, it just doesn't add to them. Embrace the circus like you said. In the end it is completely meaningless. Floyd is still retired, he's just collecting pension. Just don't give him your money, I won't because he's a POS
