Just made the drive home and they were playing song after song uninterrupted. Thought they were just doing blocks and thought to myself 'about time they play lots of Petty'. Then I log on and see this

. Honestly and undeniably one of the greatest who ever poured his heart into a microphone.

Great road trip music. For many a Brit I think he conjured up the aural equivalent of a big open sky ( seemed to be a recurring theme with him too -Learning to fly, The Great Wide Open, Free fallin etc) and would be there with Cash and Ironically with Roy Orbison and Dylan on the car stereo for the archetypal American road trip. I hope I get a chance to do it one day. RIP Tom Petty
